“Scratch Proof Thin Film on Glass” won the Grand Prix (Champion) International Invention Award at the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
Cathay Photonics invention, “Scratch Proof Thin Film on Glass”, has won the Grand Prize (Champion) at this year’s Geneva invention show for a new method of toughening screens for smartphones and other devices to avoid cracks and scratches.
The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is acknowledged as the most important exhibition of inventions for each year. The exhibition is under the patronage of the Swiss Federal Government, the State, the City of Geneva and of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
In its 44th year, the annual International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva was held between 13th-17th April 2016. More than 1,000 new inventions and products from 40 countries had been shown and were graded by the International Jury of 85 specialists for different awards standing as labels for quality.
GRAND PRIX OF THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF INVENTIONS OF GENEVA, the champion with highest commendation at the event, together with Gold Medal (with congratulations of the Jury) in the Industrial Processes Category, and Special Award For The Invention by Romanian Association for Nonconventional Technologies, went to our R&D team led by Professor Kok-wai Cheah. Thanks to the international Jury, Cathay Photonics can state with confidence that the prizes given will eloquently certify the merit of our invention and will be a substantial encourage in our commercial launching.
